Natalie is a wife, mother of three, and disability rights advocate from Charlotte,North Carolina. The birth of her daughter, Sophia, who required life-saving healthcare, inspired Natalie to co-found Advocates for Medically Fragile Kids NC and the nonprofit Sophia’s Voice. Natalie’s work has been featured in media outlets like People Magazine, CNN, and The Today Show, even garnering the attention of President Obama for her efforts to protect access to life-saving healthcare for children like Sophia. Although Sophia passed away in 2019, her memory lives on in Natalie’s advocacy. Sophia’s short life was an inspiration to many, and Natalie has vowed to keep Sophia’s story and impact on this world alive. She continues to fight for positive change in this world for those like her daughter.
